Whitney Oaks is comprised of nine gated neighborhoods. Each neighborhood has its distinctive flavor, from cluster homes to custom mansions. All neighborhoods are managed by the Whitney Oaks Home Owners Association, which provides maintenance for all roads, common areas, recreational facilities, and security.
The
Hillcrest neighborhood winds around a steep bluff, into a small valley, and then
up to the top of the ridge. The neighborhood was developed by Renaissance Homes
and Centex Homes. The homes range from approximately 1,600sf to about 3,400sf,
with single story homes as large as 2,400sf. Many of these homes enjoy the
benefits of a greenbelt behind the home, and many also have views of the
Stanford Ranch basin, originally known as Spring Valley. Residents enjoy the
ability to walk from Hillcrest to an elementary, middle, and high school with
excellent academics. Hillcrest is also the most affordable neighborhood for all
ages.
Fox Hill is a small neighborhood perched above the Hillcrest neighborhood. about half of the homes have 180 degree views of Spring Valley and westward to the Coast Range. These homes were developed by Centex, and include the same models as Hillcrest.
SpringviewSpringfield is an active adult community also located along the ridge overlooking Whitney Oaks. This community features a dedicated clubhouse, aquatic center, tennis and bocce ball, and many social activities for the community. About 30% of the homes have dramatic views of the area. Comparing Springfield with the Del Webb communities, the major differences would be the mature landscaping and better climate produced by the higher elevation. A small detail, but cellular service is better in Springfield than in either Sun City Roseville, or Lincoln Hills.
The EnclaveThe Enclave was the original custom home neighborhood in Whitney Oaks. The homes drape along the Whitney Oaks course, interspersed with granite outcroppings. The Enclave is desirable because of its proximity to the clubhouse and quick access to city streets.
Clubhouse DriveCarrying east of the clubhouse and looping back along the northern extent of the golf course is Clubhouse Drive. Residences along Clubhouse range from a cluster of semi-custom homes built early on by Meritage Homes, to the most recent dream homes attesting to the success of local business people and transplants from Los Angeles and San Francisco.
Another custom home neighborhood along the golf course with exquisite homes. The are among the most recent homes in Whitney Oaks, and are close to the site of Joel Parker Whitney's home. Views from these properties overlook the golf course and the stand of oaks on the opposite side of the fairway and green.
Winding up the bluff above Clubhouse Drive is the Abby Road neighborhood. This was the last subdivision area of Whitney Oaks to be built, and the homes on the edge of the bluff have wonderful views of the country club and the Catta Verdera custom home development on the Lincoln, CA foothills. Abby Road is unique in that one small portion of the neighborhood provides townhome living.
At the northwest corner of the Whitney Oaks planned development is another medium-density community of detached townhomes. This is one of the few townhome developments in Rocklin. It provides a perfect location for small families, singles, or seniors who want a detached home but without any outside maintenance. All homes in both Abby Road and Sterling Drive have garages.
