First, his name is pronounced "Jay Scott", but you can call him Scott or Jay Scott.

At a young age J.Scott was very entrepreneurial.  As a teen, he started a yard care business to pay for his tuition to the Outward Bound School in Maine. After college, he started a construction company which grew and prospered until sold in 1981.

That experience was leveraged in a long career in  technology companies, both foreign and domestic. J.Scott managed the marketing and sales of engineering software products. He learned how to craft unique value propositions for different types of customers, then taught sales people to sell that value.

The Carpenter family has owned income-producing real estate  since 1971, so it was natural to take that experience and merge it with skills gained in high tech. These honed marketing, sales, negotiation, and customer follow-through skills are applied everyday in the transfer of California real estate and business opportunities.
